Thirty denier is the middle of the middle. Skin tone still reads underneath but individual marks stop being legible, which for most people is the point at which tights stop being a decision.

It is also the thinnest knit here that holds its own shape over a full day without the leg going baggy at the knee.

At 30D the knit is denser than a sheer and resists snagging better, but higher denier resists snagging better. no tights are snag-proof.
