The same 15D leg with a doubled yarn across the toe box and the heel. Inside a closed shoe the reinforcement does not show; in an open shoe it does, as a visible darker panel.

Reinforcement moves where the wear happens. It does not remove it, and a reinforced toe does not make the leg above it any less likely to catch.

Snagging

At 15D the yarn is fine and catches easily on rings, nails and rough seating. A tighter knit at 70D resists snagging better than at 15D, but no tights are snag-proof.
